Creatively Run This! | Run Club!

So yeah, I joined various run clubs over the past three weeks.  I intentionally convince myself that run club is of an elite echelon.  I tell people (in my manly voice) "Run club is like Fight club and just as exciting except there is no fighting and you get to talk about it!"

Allow me to explain a run club event through my eyes...  We all gathered inside a building who's walls snickered of warmth as opposed to the outside walls whistled and howled, even bit with a cold snap.  Our run club tribal leader announced of a four mile trail and six mile trail.  I obliged my lesser ambition and went with the four mile trail.  As I stood as a new face, among many of other new faces to my perspective. But of one brethen, I was inspired to challenge the run...

Off we go, strides begin to increase as the pack leaves the building.  Keep in mind my mobile phone/gps device called a smartphone is locked away in an automobile that feeds off fossil fuels.  I refuse for my body to be fed off fossil (greasy) fuel, my reason for the run, yes?  My legs and lungs with my arms running of an uplifting spirit, trekking past mile two.  My run club brethen fade in the distance due to my locomotive's inability to keep pace with the ambition of my mind, I have wandered into an unknown territory.  I continue the strides of great expectations, for I know not where I am at the present, however I know my destination will come to fruition with persistent forward motion.  My gaze reaches unfamiliar street signs and in return I receive their antagonist stares back.  This concerns me but does not discourage me, I look up and see dark blue sky and grey clouds. This is good, for I know I am still on planet Earth and as long as I am here the destination is obtainable.  Blood and Oxygen circulate through my body in an assertive way, feeding my mind nourishment.  After much thought and self encouragement I make it back to civilization to arrive at my destination; the finish line.  But is it really a finish line?  For the effects of the run, run further than just the duration...

There has been research and studies that shows running has many upon many benefits.  One of those are blood and oxygen circulation that spur creativity and clearness in the mind.  Some even go as far as saying running stimulates new brain cell growth with increase blood flow.  I won't argue as running definitely inspires me on many facets.  So to all founders and CEOs make sure your companies have some type of workout/treadmill benefit for your employees.

Here is an idea, a startup that connects other startups with group based gym membership/workout equipment discounts.  Let's say I find five small startups that participate in this program they all pay the same amount in a pool to obtain heavy discounts on gym memberships and/or equipment, myself as the startup that connects them to stimulating workouts I get a percentage of the discount that was obtained.  There could be other add on events such as startup sponsored run clubs...
